Question: My vet says that I need to keep an eye on my dog’s ear. Are there oils I can use?
From Dr. Janet Roark, the EO Vet:
EAR SPRAY RECIPE
• 5 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
• 5 drops Geranium Essential Oil
• 5 drops Basil Essential Oil
• 5 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
• 1 tbsp. Colloidal Silver
In a 1 oz. Spray Bottle, combine ingredients and top off with Distilled Water or Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel.
DIRECTIONS: Clean ears with a natural ear cleaner, such as equal parts Witch Hazel and Apple Cider Vinegar or Colloidal Silver. Wipe out excess solution with a cotton ball. Shake bottle before each use. Spray the base of the ears twice daily, being very careful not to get any in your pet’s eyes. Alternatively, you could spray this on a cotton ball, and swipe the inside and base of the ear as needed.
For cats: omit the Basil and Lemongrass Essential Oils and use a 2 oz spray bottle.
